Construction

Dwayne’s life-sized horse sculptures have been gaining recognition and popularity through out the country. His horses are created from steel, copper, stainless steel and  bronze. The horse below is Iron Mustang, made at a 1/8″ thickness, each piece is hand cut using a plasma cutter. Then shaped by hammering the cut piece against a steel block or anvil. Similar to the way a blacksmith would shape iron, but this is all done cold, hand forged, fabricated steel. Dwayne does not use any computerize machines to punch out the pieces of steel. This is a very timely process and in a way, a dying form of art.
